Exam and ID photo and signature sizes
An upload form rejects a file a couple of kilobytes too heavy or a few pixels too wide, with no explanation. These are the limits the presets on this site write to, where each one came from, and when it was checked.

Why the notification overrules this page
Recruitment bodies reissue their rules each cycle and summaries copy them with a delay. Several figures above come from those summaries because the issuing body’s own document could not be read when they were checked; they are marked secondary, and the tools print the same warning beside the preset. Treat this table as a starting point and the notification in front of you as the rule.
- Naturally small files. A clean signature on white can be smaller than a form’s minimum at the highest quality. Nothing artificial is added to pad it; a larger pixel size, if the form allows one, makes a bigger file.
- Physical sizes. Where a form gives centimetres and DPI, the pixel size is worked out from them and the DPI is written into the JPEG header.
Questions about upload sizes
My signature is 23 KB and the form wants 10–20 KB. What do I do?
Open it on the signature-for-online-forms page and choose the form's preset. The JPEG quality is searched until the file lands inside the range, at the form's exact pixel size, and the receipt prints the result in KB with one decimal.
Is 1 KB 1,000 bytes or 1,024?
Upload forms count 1 KB as 1,024 bytes, so 20 KB is 20,480 bytes. Every figure on this site uses that convention and says so beside the number.
Should a form signature have a transparent or a white background?
White, as a JPEG. The forms in this table ask for black ink on white paper and a JPEG file, which has no transparency. The form presets fill the background with exact white.
Which figure wins if my notification says something different?
Your notification. These figures change between recruitment cycles. Type its pixel size on the Frame panel and its KB range on the Save panel; both accept any value.
Does this site check my passport photo against the face rules?
No. It sets the white background and the 630 × 810 size and checks those in the saved file. Face size, expression, eyes and glare are for you to check against the official portal.
