What this page does, in detail

The subject is cut out, an 8-pixel white outline is drawn around it, and it is written as a 512 × 512 transparent WebP under 100 KB — the format WhatsApp asks for. A 96 × 96 tray icon is one more press.

The first cutout fits colour models to your own picture, with nothing downloaded, so it is at its best when subject and ground differ in colour or brightness. Fine hair against a busy background, glass, netting and motion blur come back rough — the brushes are the honest fix.

If the subject is a person, the Cut panel offers a network trained on people instead — 5.9 MB the first time you ask for it, kept in this browser afterwards, about 90 ms a picture (estimate, not yet timed on a named device for this site).

A person, a pet or an object with a clear outline. For people, the person model on the Cut panel finds the edge best.

  • One sticker at a time. Packs and the zip a sticker app wants are not made here yet; save each sticker and add them to a pack in your sticker app.
  • The outline follows the alpha. A ragged cutout gives a ragged outline. Tidy the edge on the Refine panel first, then set the outline on the Finish panel.

Questions about stickers

What size does a WhatsApp sticker have to be?

WhatsApp's own sticker documentation asks for 512 × 512 pixels, WebP, a transparent background and at most 100 KB for a static sticker, and recommends an 8-pixel white stroke. This page writes exactly that, searches the WebP quality to stay under 100 KB, and shows the size it reached.

How do I add the sticker to WhatsApp?

WhatsApp needs stickers in a pack of 3 to 30 with a tray icon, added through a sticker app or WhatsApp's own sticker creator. This page makes the sticker files and the 96 × 96 tray icon; it does not install anything on your phone.

My browser says it cannot write WebP.

Some older browsers cannot encode WebP with transparency. The Save panel then disables WebP and offers PNG, which works in most other apps but not as a WhatsApp sticker. A current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari can write WebP.

Can I make animated stickers?

Not on this page. Animated stickers need animated WebP, which this site does not write.
